NOLA Gold Rugby, End-of-Season Statement

Jun 10 — 2025

2025 season ending

As the 2025 season came to a close this past Saturday, NOLA Gold Rugby extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who stood by us throughout the year. To our partners, fans, players, coaches, staff, and volunteers—your unwavering dedication, effort, and resilience have been the backbone of this club. We are especially grateful to the broader rugby community across New Orleans and the Gulf Coast: the local clubs, schools, coaches, referees, and families who work tirelessly to grow the game and uphold the values that define our sport.

While this season presented challenges, it has also provided valuable lessons and clear growth opportunities. We hold ourselves to high standards—both on and off the field—and remain fully committed to meeting them. A comprehensive review is underway, focused on learning, improving, and building a stronger, more resilient organization.

Yet even in a challenging year, meaningful signs of progress speak to the momentum we’re building.

  • More than 4,500 local children were introduced to rugby through our grassroots outreach—an investment in the future of the game in this region.

  • Our high school rugby championship expanded to include nine participating schools, signaling the sport’s continued growth in Louisiana.

  • We also launched the Gold Academy, a dedicated U16 and U18 development platform to identify and nurture local talent on the pathway to elite-level rugby.

  • On the professional front, we saw a 30% increase in ticketing revenue. This is a strong indicator of the growing support from our community.

Meanwhile, our long-term vision for a permanent home for NOLA Gold continues to advance, and we look forward to sharing significant updates soon.

Our belief in rugby’s long-term potential remains constant—not just on the Gulf Coast, but across the United States. We are building something meaningful here: a franchise rooted in values of commitment, respect, and resilience, and a community that embraces rugby as a force for unity and excellence.

“It’s never easy to come up short of your goals, but what matters most is how you respond. This is the end of a cycle for us—and the beginning of a new one. We are moving forward with determination, clarity, and the full support of a committed ownership group that believes in what we are building for this region.”
— Alexandre Maumont, CEO, NOLA Gold Rugby

We will be sharing additional updates with our fans and partners in early July, including a detailed roadmap for the 2025–2026 season and beyond.

Thank you for your continued belief in NOLA Gold Rugby. Together, we step into a future full of promise—and we’re proud to have you with us on the journey.

GEAUX GOLD!
