NOLA Gold Rugby Club proudly celebrates the retirement of a legend in American rugby and a cornerstone of our club—Cam Dolan.
From Fort Myers, Florida, to the world stage, Cam’s journey has been one of perseverance, pride, and lasting impact. A latecomer to rugby, Cam first picked up the sport at the age of 17 after a high school classmate invited him to a practice. What began as a new adventure quickly became a calling. Within a few short years, he was representing the United States at every level—High School and Collegiate All-Americans, U20s, and USA Selects—on the path to greatness.
Cam earned his first senior cap in 2013 against Fiji and never looked back. Over the next decade, he became a staple of the USA Men’s National Team, earning 67 test caps in the XVs format and representing the Eagles at both the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England and the 2019 edition in Japan. In total, Cam wore the USA jersey with pride for over 10 years, including two appearances in the Sevens game.
His professional career took him across the globe. Cam spent two seasons with the Northampton Saints (2013–2015) and then two with Cardiff Blues in Wales (2015–2017). In 2017, he returned to the United States to help build professional rugby in America. First, he played with the San Diego Legion and then found his long-term home with NOLA Gold in 2019.
Over six seasons in Gold, Cam became more than a player—he became a leader, a mentor, and a pillar of the club. Known for his powerful carries, lineout dominance, and quiet confidence, Cam exemplified what it means to be a professional and what it means to wear the jersey with honor.
As Cam brings his professional rugby career to a close, we reflect on an extraordinary job and the legacy of a trailblazer for American rugby. Thank you, Cam, for your leadership, loyalty, and lasting contributions to our club and the sport.
The NOLA Gold family is proud to have been part of your story, and for you to have been a chapter in our book.
